Renew Your Inspector Certification

A GCAF inspector certificate is valid for two years unless suspended or revoked. The inspector must complete a recertification training class to renew his or her certification before it expires.

Inspectors will be notified via GAS message and by email at least 60 days before their certification expiration. Inspectors should apply for recertification training at least 30 days prior to their license expiry date.

The recertification training is a one (1) day course held at GCAF training centers.

Step 1

Application

Complete and submit a complete Inspector Re-Certification Application.

One of the following forms of ID must be submitted with your application.

  • Driver's license/state ID

  • Voter's ID card

  • Valid employee photo ID from any branch, department, agency, or entity of the U.S. government, Georgia, or any county, municipality, board, authority, or other entity of this state

  • U.S. passport ID

  • Tribal photo ID

Electronic copies (scans, camera photos, etc.) are acceptable but copies must be completely clear and readable.

NOTE: GCAF only accepts documentation in English; documents in other languages will not be accepted. Additional documentation may be required in order to process the request to become a certified inspector.

Step 2

Presentation

View the Recertification Presentation

GCAF offers two options for viewing the inspector recertification presentation. Inspectors must choose one of the two offerings:

  1. Attend the traditional recertification class and view the in-person presentation; or

  2. Watch the online presentation video before attending the recertification training class. Upon arrival for class, you must sign an affidavit certifying the video was viewed.

Step 3

Training

Successfully complete a one-day training course held at a GCAF training center.

Once the application is approved the inspector/ owner or representative will receive an email with directions for scheduling.

What to Expect Next…

Please allow five (5) days for processing applications. Applications are processed in the order in which they are received.

The applicant will receive a confirmation number for an online submittal to acknowledge a successful transmission.

The applicant or the applicant’s station owner/authorized representative will be notified by email when the application is approved.

NOTE: If the applicant fails to upload the correct documentation, the application will be canceled.
