Repair Technician Training

GCAF offers online training for repair technicians to enhance the service levels of emissions-related repairs in the metro Atlanta area. The training is offered at the expense of the repair facility but offers many benefits to repair facilities and technicians. Upon successful completion, repair technicians will be considered GCAF recognized repair technicians and receive a certificate and certification number. GCAF provides additional details, after the course is completed.

Become a GCAF Recognized Repair Technician


Complete one of the following ASE Automobile & Light Truck certification trainings and receive a passing score. To take ASE tests, you must first register and pay in advance.

  1. ASE A1 - Engine Repair

  2. ASE A2 - Engine Performance

Note that you are not required to take both trainings. You only need completion of ASE A1 or ASE A2.

Once you successfully complete the online training program:

  1. Print a copy of the completion page

  2. Download, save, and complete the Online Repair Technician Completion Notification Form.

  3. Submit the form along with a copy of the completion page. Submittal instructions are listed on the form.

  4. You will receive a GCAF Recognized Repair Technician confirmation via email.

Recognized Repair Technicians

To assist motorists with selecting a qualified repair technician to assist with emissions-related repairs, Georgia's Clean Air Force (GCAF) promotes an online training for technicians. This training enhances the service levels of the participating technicians with the ultimate goal of reducing unnecessary repairs and costs to consumers.
